Custom T-shirt printing in Chicago

Custom T-shirt printing in Chicago.

A custom T-shirt works when the blank, fit, artwork, placement, decoration method, and quantity are planned together. CAOS Creates helps Chicago customers and nationwide projects choose that combination before production begins.

Plan your order

What goes into your quote?

The blank, size range, quantity per design, decoration method, locations, and artwork preparation shape the total. Compare the same shirt and artwork across quantity options so each quote covers the same finished product.

Before production

We review the artwork, selected garment, placements, and deadline together. Confirm the agreed decoration, garment availability, and delivery schedule with CAOS Creates before making commitments for your event or launch.

Serving Chicago businesses, brands, artists, schools, teams, and organizations, with nationwide shipping.

Start with the finished result

The blank is part of the design.

A heavyweight streetwear tee, a soft retail-fit shirt, a breathable performance top, and a value-focused event tee can carry the same graphic but create completely different results. We begin with how the shirt will be used, who will wear it, how it should fit, and what the finished piece should communicate.

From there, the artwork and order determine the production method. Screen printing is often the strongest route for repeatable runs and bold spot color. DTF can be useful for shorter orders, many colors, names, or detailed artwork. We recommend the method after reviewing the actual project instead of forcing every design through one process.

From our shop

A finished shirt should hold up close.

Real project photography makes scale, contrast, garment color, and edge detail visible before you decide what direction fits your own order.

Inside the work

How a custom T-shirt order comes together.

  1. 01

    Define the use

Tell us whether the shirts are for staff, an event, a merchandise drop, a team, a promotion, or another purpose.

  2. 02

    Choose the blank

We compare fit, fabric, weight, color, size range, inventory, print surface, and budget.

  3. 03

    Review the artwork

The file is checked at final size for resolution, line weight, colors, transparency, and printable detail.

  4. 04

    Plan decoration

Method, print locations, dimensions, ink or transfer needs, and garment compatibility are defined together.

  5. 05

    Approve the project

The garment, quantity, size breakdown, artwork placement, and production requirements are confirmed before the run.

  6. 06

    Produce and check

Finished shirts are inspected for placement, coverage, order accuracy, and the agreed production details.

Expert production choices

What changes the way a custom shirt feels.

The graphic gets attention, but the garment and production choices decide whether the finished shirt feels disposable, dependable, or retail-ready.

01

Fabric

Standard cotton, ring-spun cotton, CVC blends, polyester, and garment-dyed fabrics differ in softness, structure, breathability, and print behavior.

02

Weight

Lighter shirts feel cooler and drape more easily. Heavy shirts feel more substantial and can support a structured streetwear silhouette.

03

Fit

Classic, retail, relaxed, boxy, oversized, tall, women’s, and youth fits use different proportions; sizing up a classic tee does not create a true oversized cut.

04

Garment color

Shirt color affects contrast, underbase needs, ink appearance, inventory, and how the artwork reads from a distance.

05

Print placement

Left chest, full front, back, sleeve, and neck placements each have different printable areas and garment-construction limits.

06

Order mix

Quantity, sizes, locations, and colors affect sourcing and setup. A complete size breakdown prevents avoidable changes later.

Artwork guide

Send the best artwork you have.

Production-ready art gives the shop more control, but a rough or imperfect file can still be reviewed before the order is quoted.

  • Vector AI, EPS, SVG, or print-ready PDF is preferred for logos and spot-color designs.
  • Transparent raster artwork should be approximately 300 DPI at the intended print size.
  • Keep front, back, sleeve, and neck artwork as separate clearly named files.
  • Include Pantone references when an exact spot-color target matters.
  • Do not rely on a small screenshot or social-media download as the only production file.
  • Tell us if the artwork needs cleanup, rebuilding, or production guidance.

Before production

Questions, answered by printers.

Every design, garment, and deadline changes the best production route. We'll review the details before we quote.

How much does custom T-shirt printing cost?

Cost depends on the blank, quantity, artwork, number and size of print locations, decoration method, colors, finishing, and deadline. Send those details for a project-specific quote.

Is screen printing or DTF better for my shirts?

Screen printing often fits repeatable runs, bold spot colors, and specialty inks. DTF can fit shorter quantities and detailed multi-color artwork. The garment, coverage, and desired feel can change the recommendation.

Can CAOS Creates help me choose a shirt?

Yes. Use the Find Your Perfect Blank tool or tell us the fit, feel, use, quantity, and budget. We can narrow the options before you approve a garment.

Can I see the placement before production?

A mockup or proof can establish the intended artwork size and placement. Digital mockups remain approximate because garment dimensions and construction vary across sizes.

Can you ship custom shirts outside Chicago?

Yes. CAOS Creates serves local projects and can ship completed apparel throughout the United States.

What is the minimum order?

Minimums vary by method and project setup. Share the quantity, garment, and artwork so the shop can confirm the practical production route without guessing.

Can I request shirts before I have finished artwork?

Yes. Send your idea, references, quantity, garment preferences, and deadline. Tell us what still needs design work so artwork preparation and production can be reviewed together.
